Followed directions exactly; wound up rebooting both computers three times; software transferred as promised and had runtime error (from the gigaware software) resulting in no data transfer. Non Returnable item - maybe I can use the cords to tie up my trash bags.
Works on Macbook Pro with intel chip.
It is tight on the ears but good sound.
Nice all in one USB plug.
This is really legit i like it a lot I'm a rapper/r&b singer and I have to say that this is legit I can listen to my tracks while rapping and my friends came over and used it they thought it was awesome they said that it had really good sound quality the micro isn't all that good but I can try to work wit it cuz when I listen to a song or beat it comes up on my song so I don't exactly know how to fix that but I'm still working wit it i ain't no quiter but def I think it is great and I agree wit you other people that say you get headaches from the tightness of the headphones but other than that and the micro it's legit aight peace.
This is the worst headset i have ever had i got them because i thought the cushion on ears would be nice. but they are all plastic and no adjustability. I broke them in 2 min trying to get them to adj looser on my head. so i broke both sides the same and epoxied them back in a comfort zone then I find out everyone is getting an echo from the darn things. WASTE of MONEY
if the headphones are making your head swell you should try getting out from in front of your computer and exercising now and then, your head is probably too fat. or stop exercising so much =P
they fit mine just fine, i do have to position them a little bit so they don't squish my ear piercings uncomfortably. they are snug but i believe that is the intention, as i have had loose headphones slip off my head if i move.
i like the pivot points on the headphones, they are uncomfortable to place around your neck unless you pivot them 90 degrees.
i have not tried the mic yet but a mic does not have to be in front of your mouth for it to pick up your voice. sound does not travel in one direction, it radiates. having a mic in front of your mouth just creates annoying speech impediment noises and white noise. then when you start screaming because you get so excited when someone frags you, it's incredibly loud and obnoxious.
i bought these headphones because they were cheap (40 bucks) and i needed something to use over vent and skype when my regular mic stopped working. if i can find something better, i'll return them, but for now they seem just fine.
Like the people before me i agree that this dang thing is uncomfortable due to the pain on the ears. Then theres also this dang echo when im chatting i cant hear it but everyone else can. Which makes chatting while gaming miserable! i cant believe i ran through a mall 30 min before closing just to pay [$]for this piece of junk! I used to look up to radio shack but now i think of it as a cheap computer ripoff store!!! Do us all a favor and make something good that actually works and thats comfortable! and if anyone knows how to get rid of the echoing please email me at [@] and label it "MIC FIX" ok thanks ^_^
Although these headphones do produce a decent quality sound for the price, they are very uncomfortable, padding on the ear is poor and very tight, Almost like there trying to squeeze my head off after wearing them for 30minutes or so. The mic pics up everything that is soming out of the speakers, frequencie range is poor, I would not recommend for gaming use at all.
I use this headset for gaming and listening to music. The headset is very tight on the head and ears. The sound quality is very poor. No bass on the music end. The equalizer makes no difference between game setting and music setting. It all sounds the same. The microphone is poor for in-game voice output. It's hard to hear voice over the humming in the background.
Well, I use this headset a lot. So I basically wear it all the time. After i take it off, my ears are in a pain. Its a good buy, but the pain is included.
Can't hear yourself talk while gaming
I'm play CSS and listen to music all day so I'm going to need something that isn't going to squeeze my face or hurt my ears to the point that I get headaches. The sound quality is great, I just wish my computer volume went up louder. The only two things I see bad about this headset are that after 2 hours or so my ears start turning red and they hurt so bad that I need to take the headset off, and they make the side of my face sweat, and the mic is... wierd, for lack of a better word. The mic only moves up/down and in/out, it doesn't move so it's in front of my mouth at all, it's still nice though. I still come through clear and loud enough for people to understand me. Overall, it's good for people that don't plan on using them for extended periods of time.
You know, RadioShack was once the home of the true gearheads and techies. Build it yourself, things of that nature. So you think they'd be a bit more supportive with the products which they have OEM'd, right? If you're not going to provide drivers with the product, then at least tell us the chipset you're using so that I can go to the OEM and look for drivers. What's odd is I have a previous generation, and "less expensive" set of Gigaware headphones/mic - and they sound way better than these "higher end" ones. I know it's just a matter of modifying the driver settings, but... no drivers! It's relying on the generic Vista drivers. And there are definitely problems.
I love the sound quality on this headset; the bass is perfect for gaming or listening to your favorite tunes. The microphone appears to be an afterthought, though, as it is too short to position in front of my mouth properly and does not pick up my voice very well.
I am using the product to listen to music while working and shut out the outside world. I have a hearing loss and this product really helps when talking to people on Skype because I can EQ it for voice and don't have to turn it up till the voice begins to distort.
The remote control module is too large.
