I got tired of using a headset for gaming, this mic picks it up isnt too loud, and is comfortable. Definately better than a headset which annoys the ears.
This thing really isn't that great. For the price I imagined that this would be superior to the labtec compact mic that I bought. I was way wrong the labtec is much better and about a 1/3 of the cost of this one.
I had to hold the microphone next to my lips in order for my voice to register.
When needing a microphone only with VoIP operation it works extremely well. Works very well with the interfacing of radio with RF signal. Example: Amateur Radios EchoLink.
I use this for EVP work and it seems to work well when plugged into a digital voice recorder or cassette recorder. It can almost be too sensitive at times. The cable feels thin as if it may not last over a long period of time. For the price this isn't so bad. The on/off button can be difficult at times, it's not very easy to tell if it's in the "on" position just by looking.
This microphone does not pick up any sound unless it is within an inch of the source. I maxed out the sensitivity and gain on my computer, but I still had to yell into it from 6 inches away to hear anything. The cord does have a decent length and this was inexpensive.
