We have a Plasma TV positioned in the corner of a big room. The speakers are on the side and rear of the TV and muffled by being in the corner. This Radio Shack speaker system was to allow us to better hear without blasting the volume. This small, economical system has cured the problem with great sound providing clarity of each word. You can't do better at any price for the use I outline above.

This system is definitely one that you can get in trouble with. I already got yelled at twice by my parents in 30 minutes before they came down to figure out with the hell was making that terrible rumble. "I was laying on the floor watching a movie with your father and floors were shaking" - Mother. I cant wait to get in trouble at college with this bad boy! Maybe my roommate will get a second and just blow the roof off that joint.

It doesn't seem like much when you pull it out of the box. Typical little satellite speakers and a big fat beefy box housing the subwoof.

Okay, so I uncoiled, extracted, carefully didn't eat the silicon gel packet, etc.

Plugged it in. Hit play in iTunes.

DANG. Bommbadadaboombadaboomboomboom.

OK, went in, hit the equalizer, turned it off. And lo and rumble and behold.

Depth, dimension and song from these speakers. From my Yo-Yo Ma cello album to the latest from Slipknot, this was and is a spank speaker system. Very, very good audio reproduction, rivaling the quality of systems that cost hundreds of dollars more (believe me on this).

Go in, find it, buy it. Very, VERY good.

For the money you pay, these speakers are a great deal. I DO have a couple gripes though.Depending on what you use them for, the two satellite speakers having to be moved or shifted so they disperse the sound better. The subwoofer is powerful, and it can tend OVERpower when the volume is low depending on the song, so make sure you tweak your EQ for a setting thats universal. Otherwise I'm happy with them.

Get yourself a copy of SRS sound software and you can make these speakers sound like they cost $1000. Great sound for the money and a [$] software upgrade makes them truly one of the best.I have a set at both of my homes and my office.
