Comments about Gigaware Gigaware® Wired Optical Mouse:

I bought this mouse about 4 months ago. I should have paid the extra couple bucks and got the warranty. About 2 months after I bought it, the left mouse button started not working. I would have to press hard three or four times to get it to work. Taking it apart and adjusting the wires would fix it temporarily. Today, the axle on the scroll wheel (plastic btw) broke under normal use. The blue LED that lights up the scroll wheel is rather annoying, but can be fixed by taking the mouse apart and cutting one of the leads to it. For the regular user though, this is not convenient. Overall impression? Good granny mouse. Buy if you don't need a mouse more then 6 months, or get the warranty. Better yet, avoid it altogether.

I wore out the buttons on my Dell Inspiron, and this is better than replacing the PC and getting stuck with Vista!

Comments about Gigaware Gigaware® Wired Optical Mouse:

A excellent mouse, especially for the price. It had some tracking problems when I used it on my holographic mouse pad, so it doesn't work as well on reflective surfaces. I've been using it on my desk calender and haven't had any problems since. It's much more responsive than my old trackball mouse.
I use Windows XP and it took about a minute for it to be recognized after I plugged into the USB drive.
One minor drawback: It doesn't have side to side scrolling which I'd like to use for web browsing. Other than that, I'd still recommend this mouse to a friend.

I had already installed drivers from Microsoft for a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000, in which case the software had a lot of other drivers with it for various mice including wired. When I plugged in the Gigaware Wired Optical Mouse, it worked almost perfect. Those having problems with Vista might try to download this latest mouse driver software.

no driver for this mouse
By FredVerified Reviewer from Orange, CA on 1/28/2008

Comments about Gigaware Gigaware® Wired Optical Mouse:

This mouse does not have drivers; another model has a CD with it. This mouse does not always "attach" when the computer boots up. Drivers should be made available on the web site.

Comments about Gigaware Gigaware® Wired Optical Mouse:

This mouse is a steal for it's price. I was wary at first, since I've never heard of Gigaware, but it is completely accurate, smooth, and comfortable. It's lightweight, but not too light for gaming. In fact, as a gamer, I noticed my performance increasing dramatically with this mouse.

Read the other reviews, but since I'm using it on a desktop with XP, the comments regarding Vista didn't apply. Find this mouse meets my needs very well. Comfortable design. Worked immediately upon plugging in and continues to perform excellently.

Comments about Gigaware Gigaware® Wired Optical Mouse:

I bought this this afternoon in the Harvard Square [...]. The salesman showed me on the package that the mouse is designed to work with VISTA. When plugged into my notebook computer running on Vista, the mouse wouldn't work; running the mouse on a Vista notebook is the ONLY reason I purchased yet another mouse today.

Comments about Gigaware Gigaware® Wired Optical Mouse:

Button works on Vista and XP for one day. The light stays on overnight even with the Computer turned off and unplugged from the electrical outlet (Socket). The computer battery will not last long. The following morning the button is still lit but the mouse did not respond. Maybe you?re supposed to unplug it before going to bed but that might not work because it did not work for me. They also need to warn eco friendly customers about toy lights that cannot be turned off on computer mouse, cases etc. I'm returning it to the store.

I purchased this mouse today and it does NOT work on my Vista notebook. The mouse lights up but the pointer on my screen is not responding to the mouse. Its as if my computer doesnt even know the mouse is plugged in. And where in the heck is the DRIVER for this mouse? There isnt ANY Gigaware Online support of ANY kind. Ive searched all over the net and I havent found ANY support or drivers for this mouse. Maybe it works on other OSs, but it does NOT work on my vista notebook. [...]
