I have a cordless keyboard and mouse that I wasn't able to use before as one of the connections was PS2. Tried a little adapter, and it didn't work. A friend let me borrow hers to see if it would work. Hooked it up and it worked immediately. Definitely worth the price. She actually paid about twice the price for hers. Now I am going to buy my own.
initially I bought a cheap one off [...]. it didnt work with my keyboard. This one from radioshack worked immediately and reliably. Clearly there is a difference between ps2-usb adaptors. well worth the extra cost - it works where others dont.
I used this adapter to connect a Wireless barcode scanner. It works perfect. The scanner uses a PS2 wedge, and with this adapter I can now use it on my laptop through USB.
I used this to connect an old keyboard to our Wii. It does the job well.
It attaches one of the best controllers ever made for a fraction of the cost of many other PC controllers which are no where as good as a PS2 controller
make sure it works with your specific mouse or keyboard before you buy

We've used several dozen of these adapters to use older PS/2 keyboards on newer CPUs. They've worked well in our departments and kept us from having to buy new keyboards. We were also able to let our users keep devices that they'd grown accustomed to using.
There're too many variables to be able to know for certain that an adapter will work for your device. Using with specialized or off-brand devices can keep adapters from working properly. Pretty much have to try one, see if it works, if not, try a different brand.

This adapter works on some PS/2 devices, mainly mice. Wouldn't support my PS/2 external trackball.
Wouldn't support a single-to-dual PS/2 adapter, but that was probably not a reasonable test. However... I tried that because I wanted to run a mouse and keyboard, both PS/2, at the same time. That's the sort of thing you'd expect to be able to do. Not worth buying two of these, though (I didn't try using two adapters, one for the mouse, one for the keyboard, so I can't even say that would work. I doubt it, based on the poor performance with single devices attached through the adapter).
This is a specialty adapter for people who are used to improvising. Not recommended for novice or light-duty users.
