Comments about RadioShack ADSL Broadband Filter:
My answer modem (on a line without DSL) was erratic and would hangup. The modem reported a Signal-to-Noise ratio of 16db. With the filter in the line, the SNR was 34db and the modem functioned perfectly.

Comments about RadioShack ADSL Broadband Filter:
I used it as a filter with my phone line, it did suppress the noise by 30% only so I still have problems. Also the way it hangs down from the wall will cause fatigue on the cable of the filter with time.

Comments about RadioShack ADSL Broadband Filter:
This is a superior DSL filter compared to those supplied with DSL modems and even compared to Radio Shack's own two-line DSL filter. This one provides noticably LESS voice distortion than the others I have tried. (Those who tell you that DSL filters prevent DSL service-induced noise on your phone line simply do not know what they are talking about.) I needed a DSL filter to use in conjunction with a digital recording system to record my phone conversations, and this filter significantly improved the quality of my recorded conversations compared to other available DSL filters. Interestinly, this one is also the only DSL filter I found that included actual technical specifications, to inlcude decibels of separtion, etc., on the packaging.
