This is the perfect solution, to having to share one USB device (like a printer) between two computers, especially when networking them is not an option. Contrary to the web-page, the connection cables are not 2 feet long, they are more like 5 feet. Therefore, it does not usually require any other cables to be purchased! The existing printer cable, in my case, is used to connect to the printer's Type-B (D-shaped) connector, which then plugs into the female Type-A, to the switch. The other Type-A's (male) go to the computers. I was concerned if Windows would get confused, about the switching, but it only takes the printer temporarily 'off-line', at the computer that is not currently connected. (And, it automatically makes them 'on-line' when the button is pressed again!) No indicators, just a nice, small, push-button thumb-switch to change connections. NICE! (There is a warning in the instructions, about sharing hard drives on Macs, and how they should be un-mounted before you switch.)
