I purchased mine about 13 months ago, but when the warranty ran out so did it's appeal. Called customer support "Sirius" They said, the "X" code on the unit means it is defective. Good luck after warranty!!

[*] out on me just over 1 year. Made in China. Might go w/ the Stiletto, but made in China as well. Sirius needs to have better quality control. 4 radios [*] out in 2 years.

I Don't know what Charles from Morgan town, WV is talking about? This unit is the cats meow. I use it in my UPS truck with the SUBX1 portable satellite radio boom box 10 hours a day five days a week and it's fantastic. I also use it in my house and car.
I did install it in the car using the ipod jack for audio out and that is the best way to enjoy the digital sound quality of satellite radio, if you use the FM transmitter through your car stereo it can be difficult to find a clear frequency to hear the Sirius audio. Sirius had to minimize the transmitter output of the Sportster 5 and the rest of the latest line of plug and play radios due to complaints from nearby cars listening to terrestrial radios and hearing some of Sirius Radios adult content coming over their receivers.If you can't use a ipod jack or cassette adapter I would hold off using it in the Car.

Subscribing to Sirius is the best music move I have ever made. I like everything about it. I like the Sportster 5 because I like to get sports scores while I am away from home. Color graphics are very sharp also. I have not had any problems with it at all. Make sure you purchase the FM module if you are going to use it with your car radio speakers. It will save you a trip back to the store to get it.

I've owned a lot of Sirius receivers, and this is by far the best thing they've come out with so far. I've had this installed for a while now, and it is crystal clear, and the sharpest looking unit out there.

Stay away from this piece of junk. Aside from the pretty graphics it is a poor excuse for a system.

I love the display and the choices of different colors for background and the words.I use to have the Starmate was a great radio, but when we went on vacations wasn't great for night travel. The BRIGHT BLUE display really was annoying,when driving long distances. [...] Keep up with this type of display. Just add more colors for choices.

This is my 4th receiver from Sirius and they keep getting better. This time they got it all in the Sportster 5. Easy use, compact design, very nice look!
