This is the perfect GPS unit for those who don't want complicated, but want simple GPS with lots of features. It took me longer to get it out of the package than it did to set it up. Setup was super fast! I plugged this in and didn't even need to read directions. I was set on buying a Garmin, then went to the store and found out that the Garmins do not have Canada Maps included like the TomTom. Plus, the price was much better! I am very happy with my purchase!

Navteq Vs TeleAtlas Maps

Pros:
Acquires Satellites Quickly, Compact, Easy Menus, Reliable Performance
Cons:
Inaccurate
Best Uses:
Planning Trips
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Traveler, Technically Challenged
Primary use:
Business
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I had a couple of "in dash" GPS devices with Navteq maps and I tried this device with a TeleAtlas map for a week and returned for the following and important reasons (to me):
- my personal address was wrong. My Street # was almost 200 yards far away.
- in my small Florida town there are almost two old and important roads missing.
- it's impossible to keep a personal map detail during navigation. It goes up and down by default.

Something positive: the TomTom Home Software is very well done and fun to use.

I just got this unit, after my daughter took over my TomTom One 3rd edition....lol. I got sick of her always asking me if she could use the GPS, so I decided to just give her the GPS, and buy myself a new one. The 130 is basically the same as the 3rd Edition TomTom, except that it has better battery life (3hrs. compared to 2hrs.) It also is a bit thinner, and has the mount built into the GPS, which is a real nice feature.
My new 130 works flawless, and it gets me to where I want to go. I could have gotten a more advanced GPS, but I was just looking to get from Point A to Point B, and had no need for all the "bells, and whistles." I would recommend this GPS highly!!! It's very easy to use right out of the box, and has some great features, maps, and upgrade of the maps feature with the Map and Share software.....If you're looking for a "no frills" GPS, buy this, and you WON'T be sorry.

130 vs Tom 1 ed2
By Don P from North Bay, CA on 6/1/2008
Pros:
Good Value, High Quality
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

good and clip allows hanging from right edge of rear mirror and doesn't interfere or fall off. Con: unlike my other (older) Tom 1 ed2, the 130 doesn't have blue tooth. - but that's OK with me. I not only recommend this - I have bought one for a friend.
