I have had this divice for about two weeks and I love it. The directions are perfect and if you turn the wrong way within 5 seconds you will have new directions.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® RoadMate™ 1400 GPS Navigation Unit:

I love using this to get around. I really don't need bluetooth, text to speech and stuff like that. I just need something to get around. It gets a signal quickly even inside a tunnel and I have never lost a signal! But best of all it has great directions. Even when I try it on routes I already know it ends up getting me there faster. It almost as if it knows which roads get backed up. And while I have never used it the detour feature seems useful to get you out of traffic. It does take a little while to recalculate if you go off course but it is only like 10 seconds. The screen is big enough so I can quickly glance at it while driving and not see a cluttered screen. The list of POIs is extensive but not perfect.

The only real con is that it is unable to plan complete trips with multiple destinations.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® RoadMate™ 1400 GPS Navigation Unit:

It does not come with a USB cable that is required for download updates, lucky I had one from other Magellan handheld I use for geo-caching. A regular USB will not fit. Other than that seems like a great unit for the sale price, wish it had a AC adapter for charging inside or took user replacable batteries. But we can't have everything, can we?
