This Garmin is really really neat. It has almost everything needed to help one find a place and get there fast. I only use it to help me find addresses that I don't know, but mostly for long dis. traveling which I do a lot of.
Even though I did say in the Pros section, that it "Acquires Satellites Quickly"; there are times when it take a few mins. But other then that, it's an all around great product.
My mom (70+) can't figure out how to read a text message on her cell but she took my 200W on a month long trip-found out my uncle in PA thought it was great-took them right to an aunt in MD. If inside or moving can be slow at getting signal but if you put it on the dash where it has direct line of sight to sky before starting out had no problem acquiring signal. Took it to Seattle and had no problem getting around-lost signal in downtown around tall buildings but only for a few seconds-reaquired very fast. Used it around home first to get used to it-helped me to learn its timing at corners for turns.
If you put in the correct address the 200 will take you there. I've tested in on well known routes and it will recalculate the location within seconds of purposely missing the first, second turn, etc.
This system the map need to really be up graded baddddddddd. Also while driving are having some spell a street it doesn't correct the spelling it just tell you can't find it, instead of giving you option thats close to what your are trying to find other than that I like it
Just used on trip to Seattle via Idaho

I have taken this cross-country with me, and I really do like it overall. I has taken me to some POIs that no longer exist, even after I have updated it, but that would be garmin's problem, not the GPS. I would recommend it to most.
4.3 screen is nice, but takes FOREVER to acquire satellites. Took a 90 mile ride and tried it out, but didn't acquire a satellite until we were 22 miles from home.
Great unit for the price. Unbeatable value in a widescreen. Quicker & better than my old unit (Magellan 700). User manual is not to informative, however the unit is very user friendly. If you need a gps to get you from A to B without all the fancy bells and whistles (that you won't use anyway)w/ a large screen. Hands down this is it.
This is a grat product. It's easy to use and read. It finds the signals quickly. the directions are accurate.
I would recommend this product to anyone.
The only negative I see with the 200w is that it does not do street names wished it did,but everything else is great!

If you want something simple and easy to use with absolutely no bells and whistles, this might be the GPS for you.
Pro: Easy to quickly navigate to a nearby POI on the fly, i.e. a gas station or shopping center.
Con: There's no quick way to check the name of the street you're on if you don't know. It's not displayed on the HUD anywhere so you have to go into 2D mode and scroll around until it appears, which obviously should not be done while driving.
Also the mount sometimes moves when you press the screen; annoying.
My job requires me to travel all day 5 days a week! I bought this product because I am very directionally challenged and I just moved to a new state. I do like this product. It is easy to use, fits right in my purse, like the wide screen, and for the most part gets me where I need to go. On the flip side, it does take a long time to acquire satelittes alot of the time, and it has got me lost down some pretty strange country roads or insists I take a street that does not exist. Also, I am unable to put my home address in and have to give an intersection near by. So, all in all, I think its a good product but could use some fine tweeking.
my wife can open her eyes going through nashville
Fun product to use. Quick to operate and find where you want to go. I did play around with geocaching and had a pretty good time. Great for a first time GPS buyer.
THIS THING NEEDS A SERIOUS MAP UPDATE! THE STREETS IN MY CITY ARE ALL SCREWED UP ON IT AND IT ALSO WILL NOT GET YOU WITHIN 1000 YARDS OF MY HOUSE WHEN ENTERING MY ADDRESS
this works great, i'm not good with driving in san francisco too many roads that are oneway streets but this little system helped me get to where i was going with ease, i like that it tells you before time how far before your next turn and then again at the location of the turn itself and that it comes with a larger screen for those like myself who needs that little something extra (glasses).i have talked a friend into buying this system and to get rid of the current system he had and after playing around with mines e did just that, great product
Very easy to use and set up. Very accuate the times I have used it. Unsure about the traffic updates though. Used three times to find remote locations and worked perfectly, inculding turning me around when I STILL made a wrong turn.
Wow! I am very impressed with the features and performance of the unit. The thing I DON'T like is the manual. It is poorly written and there is NOTHING on line any better. Simple things like changing the view from 2-D to 3-D or adding more detail are not listed. Luckily, the menus are intuitive and I am a geek so I was able to poke around and found what I needed. The satellite reception is great - I have mine mounted down a bit lower on the dash (not on the windshield) and I still get perfect reception. One more nit - even though it has voice prompt, it tells you "turn right in 500 feet" instead of "turn right on Main Street." I guess that is a feature reserved for more pricy units. But for [$], it has everything I want.
I've had my Garmin 200W for about two weeks now. And I decided to test it out before driving to Dallas, Texas. I used it to go back and forth from work, just to see the roads I'm suppose to take. The only thing I did not like about this unit is, It routed me to all the tollways. I live in Houston, Texas and the Westpark tollway is only for EZ tags drivers. If I had been new to town and didn't know that, I would have received a costly ticket for driving tollway w/o a EZ tag. I decided to return the Garmin and purchase the Megellan 4040 which gives me the option to avoid tollways.
There are not enough superlatives to describe this Nuvi 200W! I have a first generation Garmin BMW motorcycle navigator[$] You almost need to enroll in a four year college course to understand the ridiculous complexity of it. There were enough user manuals that came with it to fill a bookshelf. 4 years later [$] this beautiful tiny unit is idiot-proof. Just take it out of the box and go ride with it. Everything is touch pad operated with simple, easy to use features. I became an "expert" with it in just one day, it is that good. Mine will see daily duty in my two cars and two BMW bikes. Throw away your road maps, cause Garmin rules!
This worked well directing around the city, it was accurate, the screen was clear, easy to use, and offered tons of points of interests. The only thing I had an issue with and this might be all satellite equipment, is that from time to time it would loose the signal, near airports, near trees and tall buildings. But other than that it was very reliable and could not have traveled without it. It was great in and out of the car. It also stopped my husband from asking complete strangers for directions and cut down on gas station stops for directions as well. Good investment.
