I bought this to use on my bicycle but found it mainly used in my truck. Though it won't speak to you like automotive GPS devices it will beep on upcoming turns and such. Will route to a destination for you if using City Navigator software and has millions of POI's (restaurants, gas stations, etc). Can be very useful when traveling and need a GPS to carry around with you on foot as the battery life is phenomenal. The screen is small and difficult to read while driving but in your hands is where this shines. I have used it to route me through city streets though to look at it you should pull over or check while stopped at intersections to be safe. Very good unit, one of my coworkers wants to get one now after we used it on a road trip.
