Pros:
Acquires Satellites Quickly, Compact, Easy Menus
Cons:
Short Battery Life, Unreliable

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
While the 478 is a powerful GPS, there is a downside. Battery life is very short and the repacement batteries are expensive. If I had it to do over, I'd buy Magellan.
