I bought this unit for my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder convertible. I have the stock stereo, which includes an Eclipse amp, and wanted to add some warmth and kick to the bass drums. This unit remarkable fit under my driver's side seat, and added some nice warmth to the low end of the music. It didn't provide the thump I wanted to feel, though, and got easily distorted at louder volumes. I was not looking for something to thunder down the street, but even at volumes I listen to myself, especially to overcome the convertible noise, this unit gives out. 3 inches just isn't enough depth for a subwoofer in my opinion. I opted for a larger self powered sub from MTX (the Thunderlink), and am very happy with that instead (taking up some of the floor on my passenger side).
