Unfortunately I just plugged this frame after 90 days warranty is passed, neither the Readioshack, nor the smartpart is ready to replace it.. Remote stopped working within 2-3 days, and now even its hard to play it manually...Only Default slideshow works.. It is only good lookwise, otherwise it is a waste of money.
We bought two of these at christmas, one for my parents and one for us. Since then both have just died. [...]
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. I wanted something for his desk at work that would showcase our twins and not have a lot of individual frames sitting around.
He LOVED it - the software was easy, the upload with out requiring a SD card is a big +, the picture quality is wonderful. He was home for a week after Christmas and I really missed it when he took it to work with him.
It was highly rated on the research that I did and it suggested a larger frame for higher resolution photos.
I got it on BF, so I'm hoping to find another deal next year and buy 2 or 3 more - one for our parents and possibly one for our home.
Love this digital photo frame. It is great quality and size for the price. Only problem was I had to download the software for the computer from Smartparts website. My computer would not download the software from the divice. It was quick and easy. Wish there was editing software in the Optix Pic software so that 3rd party software is not needed. Love this item.
Bought this picture frame for a Christmas gift. Large enough size that everyone in the room could watch the slideshow.
This frame is amazing! The picture is beautiful. It exceeded my expectations!
Bought this for my parents and they love it.
I like this frame because
-The screen is a good size and it looks better than most frames.
-It has a use port so you can directly transfer photos to the frame without a memory card
-You dont even need a memory card because the frame has internal memory itself and you can fit 100-200 pictures without a memory card
-Only frame ive seen with speakers so you can play music and some videos. I even recorded a message for my parents and put it on the frame
The only bad thing
-You cant scroll through the pictures very fast but you can view multiple pictures on one screen
-Resolution could be a little better. The reason why some pictures dont look as good is because the file must be small and the screen is 11" so it streches small pictures making it look different.

[...] I bought two for gifts but after getting it home and seing the quality of the frame and the options that it has which besides internal memory it also is capable of playing movies and mp3, my only regret is that I only got two of them at that execellent price. Excellent Frame!! Great Product!!
The 11.3 inch photo frame does very well on low to medium resolution photographs. Higher resolution photographs (6 megapixel and higher) are not as sharp as the lower resolution. Unless there's a "button" somewhere to adjust this that hasn't been found yet, photos from higher resolution cameras will have to be edited separately to lower resolution to show well on this frame.

For the size and price, I would have expected a better pixel resolution for this unit. This (11.3") has 640x480 resolution, while their 8" unit has 800x600!
Sure, it has MP3 audio, and MP4 video capability that the other unit doesn't have. And I haven't tried the A/V cable, because that's not why I bought it. I've got CD/DVD players that will display images to the TV. This is for desktop use.
It falls a bit short on display resolution. I'd rather have clarity in the pictures, rather than more features that I'll never use.
If you're considering this unit, be realistic. Would you really use the extra features? Video sounds fun, but who takes the time to author MP4 videos for their digital frames?

I am a professional photographer [@] and this is the best digital picture frame on the market. I've tried other brands, and while its true the software is fairly simple in this unit, I think thats a plus. It makes it easy for the novie to understand. My only complaint about the software is during the thumbnail view, it can take a second or two to load in the thumbnail of photos with a large file size. But thats a minor complaint.There are a LOT of high end features on the frame unit, including the ability to play mp3 music files and video, and the photo quality is superb. You can use any type of standard chip to store/load the photos, or connect directly to your computer and load them onto the built-in memory. [...]if you can afford the price its certainly a luxury item worth the cost.
I purchased this item for myself on Black Friday but I loved it so much that I went back a week later to purchase another one as a Christmas gift for my parents. Once my parents saw mine they LOVED IT! So I secretly borrowed their photo albums and scanned approx. 200 pics from their photo albums. Now they have their own to display in their own home. I can't wait to see their faces when they open their gift. This is a great gift for those who are hard to buy for or that have everything.

It would not read my SD camera cards from my cell phone. It did work with my Dx from my camera.It only shows one pic at a time. I have seen other frames that do a mosaic patterns ( four at a time ) and other tricks.In short big piece of glass, low end software.I think it will be a good x-mas for grandpa.[$]
I bought this the day after Thanksgiving. What a deal! I bought it just to "try it" and see if I liked it. I love it. It is very easy to use. The photo quality is great. It is large enough to display and view across a room. It has a remote that makes it easy to turn on/off. I will display all my photos on this. The digital image is the best one I have found when doing research on similiar frames of this size. I would have bought another, but they were sold out at the time. Great digital frame.
