This is just awful. You may only select 1 of 3 speed settings. You cannot change the way the transition rolls into new photos. You cannot randomize the photo display. The resolution is really low & pixelates photos. It feels really "Harsh" when you insert a memory card. Save your money and upgrade to something better.
Like a few other reviews that I see for this item, I also received this for Christmas. It would periodically stop the slide show every few days. Today it just died. The slide show works for a few minutes and then the display goes black. Can restart but it goes black again after a few minutes.
I plan to call the support number Monday, but am not encouraged that a satisfactory resolution will result.
I received this frame as a gift for Christmas and like several other people after 7 months it died. The picture would become so dark that I thought the frame had turned off. Upon restart the picture would be fine for about 5 minutes, then it becomes dark again. Changing the brightness did nothing to change the problem. When I called the toll free number about the 1 year warranty, I was told that I would have to pay $60 to have it serviced and that it would take 4 - 5 weeks. [...] I liked the frame when it worked, but now it is a big disappointment.
Received it for Christmas. It was good while it lasted, but 6 month's use is unacceptable for this pricey item. [...]
This was given to us as a gift. It was nice while it lasted, but stopped working after 6 months. :-(

Says it is "loading" and then shuts off when I insert memory card. Nothing in User's Guide about "loading". Should start slide show when powered on.

display automatically turns off after 30-60 sec...have to unplug/replug, then repower, and sometimes it doesn't even work then. I've had it about a month, going to see if I can get a replacement.

I got this on sale for [$] just before Christmas. Even at that price, it's not worth the money. Because of the frame's aspect ratio, pictures from almost every digital camera will display with black bars on each side. The picture was also very grainy/blurry. I returned it for a refund and wouldn't recommend it.

NO built-in memory. Can NOT be connected to PC for picture download. You MUST buy a [...] memory card, which can add another [$] to the 'price'. The resolution is so low that after viewing 25 pictures (actually viewing them - not just having the pictures as a "background noise") you will definitely get a headache from the eyestrain. The resolution is reminiscent of cheap cameras from about 5-7 years ago. I would price it at about $20.00 - NOT [$], as the RadioShack did.DO NOT BUY IT!

This is our first digital frame, so the low resolution was a bit of a shock. The actual resolution seems to be a RS secret - not even in the specs (nor is the screen size). Still learning to use the unit. The unit can be oriented either horizontally or vertically. So must your pictures, and on separate memory cards. But the vertical pictures must be horizontal, with the tops all in one direction. In other words, the frame only shows wide horizontal pictures. If you want to show vertical pictures, you have to turn them horizontal and then turn the frame vertical. I suspect the frame is 480x854 resolution, or 16:9 format - the same as wide screen TV. But most digital cameras seem to take photos in 1.5:1 format, and standard web resolution is 1.33:1. I don't think the far ends of the screen on this unit will get much use. Buy another? Perhaps at the sale price. But I'd look harder at specs like screen resolution and perhaps avoid the 16:9 if given a choice. A nice addition would be to add a USB port so pictures could be uploaded to the memory chip, but this would probably not be cost effective. Just add a chip slot to your PC [...]

NO built-in memory. Can NOT be connected to PC for picture download. You MUST buy a (SD) memory card, which can add another $40.00 to the 'price'. As the previous reviewer stated you get more pictures on the unit at a lower resolution. Specifications does not list the resolution so I can not determine how low to reduce the resolution to. My pictures are 3008 X 2000 pixels I am sure the display does not approach this level. Maybe 854 X 480 is the magic number

The unit does not allow you to load more than 14 photos as indicated in the owners manual. If you give the unit as a gift, you must include the SD card from your camera for the unit to function. After reading the manual for 2 hrs. and experimenting with the controls, I was unable to delete the photos from the units memory. It would only allow you to copy photos. I purchased the unit as a gift for my 88yr. old mother-in-law for Christmas. I was unable to gift the unit to my mother-in-law do to the fact I was unable to delete photos that I used to experiment with. You also need a card reader to transfer any photos you might want to use from your computer. The whole unit is a hassle and the [...] sales person never mentioned all the down sides to the unit.

I love it, I was able to scan pictures onto the memory card from a long time ago and so much more and they can add more to the memory card at any time! I was impressed by the picture also. Thanks for the tip on the sizing, that's the only thing I had a little bit of a problem with!

Just make sure your photos aspect ratio is 16x9 and black bars will be gone.just use any photo editing software to resize your photo (mine i resize to 854x480) and it will fill the whole screen up. for the price its the best you can get.

This frame has all the options you need. I found that if you reduce the resolution of your pictures to match the frame you can put more pictures on the internal memory and they still look great.
