Mustek DV520T poorly assembled
By The Gadget Meister from San Francisco on 5/19/2008

More than six months
Pros:
Great Features, Simple Controls, Versatile
Cons:
Flimsy Construction, Poor Battery Life, Poor Sound
Best Uses:
Movies/Short Films
Describe Yourself:
Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Surprisingly for a reknown company such as Mustek, the 520T is a defective model. It is versatile, simple and when functional, takes decent images. However, the buttons and knobs stick, and the application when required usually does not engage. The buttons stick usually after you have owned the machine more than 90days. It died after awhile, although all the warning lamps indicate it still functions. Buy something else.

I am just a teenager who wanted a cheap, simple, inexpensive camcorder to take around and take short simple videos, but this camcorder couldn't even do that. I was not looking for quality, but the videos were down right blurry. The sound on the recordings were horribly delayed, the person in the video would talk for a few seconds before you could even hear his/her voice. Do not under ANY circumstances buy this product.

AT FIRST IT SEEMED HARD TO OPERATE,BUT AFTER GOING OVER THE BUTTONS ITS REALLY SIMPLY.THIS IS SO MULTIFUNCTIONAL.COMPACT,EASY TO OPERATE AND COMES WITH ALL THE ACCESSORIES YOU NEED.THE ONLY DRAW BACK IVE SEEN IS THE AUDIO.DOESN'T SEEM TO CAPTURE WELL.IT IS LOW PITCHED AND HARD TO HEAR AT TIMES.OTHER THEN THAT YOU CANT BEAT IT ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE.CAN HOOK UP DIRECTLY TO TV,COMPUTER.CAN REMOVE CARD ALSO TO DISPLAY VIDS AND PICS TO PC.OTHER CAMERAS WITH THESE FEATHERS IS MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE.I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE A REMOTE WITH IT.ON THE WEB SITE IT SAYS EAR PHONE BUT ON BOX IT DOESNT LIST THEM.THEY WERE NOT INCLUDED.I WOULD DEFINTLY GET IT.YOU WILL ENJOY IT.

I bought this camera just to throw in the backpack for camping fishing and other out door activities. Has prooved to be very durable and reliable. Great battery life! Zoom for the video camera is the only drawback, it tends to make the video grannie. but for anything within 30 feet it is great.
