I bought this tripod for my Sanyo Xacti C40, which has a weight of 12 ounces. Color me surprised, 'cuz it works just fine! If I wiggle it a bit, then yes, it tends to fail. But I don't expect to be wrapping the legs of the tripod around a tree branch when windy, so IMHO, this product is exactly what I expected. ^-^

Great idea, but just slips out of position WAY TOO easily when using anything but the lightest little point and shoot camera. Any camera using 4 AA Batteries is probably going to be too heavy. As a professional photographer, I knew this wouldn't hold my dslr's, but I hoped that it would hold flashes for me as I shoot a lot of off-camera flash work. This flimsy little gorilla-pod knock off won't even come close to holding up a little Canon 420EX Speedlight flash. [$]

It's pretty darn small so it's portable. It can hold weights up to 9oz. according to the box. However, I've used amounts slightly over that and it's still fine but your mileage may vary so I am not responsible for any broken parts of anything. It's sturdy and rigid which leads me to believe that it is of high quality. Compared to the equivalent Gorillapod from Joby (the inventors of this type of tripod) it's a great deal; it is [$]cheaper. While I said it's easy to adjust it isn't perfect. Good buy if you need a tripod for your smaller non-SLR camera.
