Perfect for Honeymoon pictures on the be
By JennyLynnVerified Reviewer from Seattle, WA on 8/29/2008
Pros:
Folds Small, Good Stability, Lightweight, Unfolds Quickly
Best Uses:
Photography, Portraits
Describe Yourself:
Casual user
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This was one of my favorite items we packed for our honeymoon. It's very lightweight, and it's so skinny that it fit along one side of the suitcase without taking up much space at all. By taking this tripod with us, we were able to set up the tripod on the beach, the deck, and anywhere we wanted. This let us capture really great portraits of the two of us - pictures that we will keep for a lifetime. These pictures look so much nicer than being limited to the typical one-armed self-pictures, so I think that this is a must-have item for any honeymoon or special trip! :)

Poorly constructed tripod
By Peaches from Lexington, KY on 4/11/2008
Pros:
Folds Small, Lightweight
Cons:
Weak Construction
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I was using this with a lightweight digital camera on flowers in my front yard. It still had the tag on it, and of course, it was new, never used. The tripod isn't worth owning, the plastic is just terrible. I thought it would be great (came with a new camera as a package) to use because it is very lightweight. Do not bother, as it broke with gentle use on the first use.

Bought a tripod at another store, it was flimsy and once I opened it I couldn't close it. I returned it and bought this model, the difference is day and night. Not too small, not too big, just right.

Value of money
By AbeeshVerified Reviewer from Exton, PA on 10/30/2007
Pros:
Easily Adjusted, Lightweight
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Did a research before I bought this. This one seems to be the best deal of all. Light weight and compact. I had bought a laptop bag last year from Targus and after severe rough use still it was good which tilted me towards this one. It folds easily to a smaller size so that I could carry it around in my laptop bag along with the other stuff.
However I would recommend this only for causal use along with a camcorder or a camera. Would not think of strapping something heavy (professional )to it.

[...]Unit has all the usual adjustments: pan, tilt, rotate, vert adj. It's reasonably sturdy, the movements are surprisingly smooth, and no slop after adjustments are locked. If you don't need a heavy pro-end ($$$) tripod, this one is better than decent - For the price, you can't go wrong. Can't think of any significant cons.

Useful tripod for the price

I got this on sale for ten bucks and its well worth the price. Its ergonomically designed, so extending it to its full length is a matter of a few seconds and after you are done it folds up nicely to carry in your backpack. It can carry the weight of my slr with a heavy lens with ease. I am very happy with this purchase.
