This is a great product. I was skeptical about using it on Vista, but I purchased it today and it works great with Windows Vista. Just plug and play and it is recognized as a "Storage Device". If you are a Windows 98 user you must go to their website to download the driver. Other than that it is a awesome product for the price.

IT DOESN'T WORK! The I know windows knows it's there but since windows isn't good for this it sucks. You can only format the SD card by: 1. Hooking it up 2. Go into command prompt 3. type "Format H:" or where ever the slot it usually is in. 4. Let it work 5. It's formated!

It's only good for wiping your SD card. So it's good if you have a 2.0 GB SD that needs to be wiped.

Bottom Line: Don't bye it! Price... MADE IN CHINA.

Ya,This thumb drive isn't built like a TIGER TANK!But it dosen't have to be.It plugs right into my notebook and uploads all my pics in a instant. It is perfect for the shutter bug,not the pro.It wasn't ment to be.I used it on all four of my PCs and it works fine. With OS-98se,2k pro,XP home
vista basic. Its a generic drive,so no driver is needed.I think it's a great idea.Just read the instructions and your off.

I just bought this reader today. My dog chewed the cable for my digital camera, and I couldn't find a replacement. Someone suggested a card reader. Not having alot to spend, I chose this after visiting 3 stores. It was Horrible! No instuctions came with it. I was told just plug in and go, so I did. All I got was a message telling me to insert a disk. Took over an hour to get this to work so I could transfer my pictures. I finally did, but not sure if I'll keep this item or swap for something better.

Not for Windows 98!

Cons:
Very Poor Driver Support

When I first received this product I used it on WinXP and it worked fine (at work). At home I still use Win98 (yes). This device does not work at all with Win98 and the manufacturer has very poor driver support or any support period!
I would not recommend any product from a manufacturer that has this absolutely BAD level of support.

This thing has served me well non stop since I got it. I transfer from mac to pc to smart phone and back again with no issues. It is light weight and isn't made real sturdy but if you take care of it, it won't break. I got mine for [$] with a [$] rebateso the price was right!

I too had a problem getting this to work at first with my 1GB SD card (Windows was not recognizing it at all). Since I have worked in the computer industry for over 20 years I did not give up. I had another card available (128MB) which I tried and it worked. Then I slipped the original card back in and it worked as well, and has ever since.

For those of you who gave up too quickly, I would suggest a few things first:

1) Is the USB extension cable that came with it on tight?
2) Can you plug it in without the extension cable in a slot that has enough room to allow its bulky size?
3) Do you have another card to try in it?
4) Worse case scenario, try rebooting your PC - sometimes USB ports get goofed up and cannot properly read the connection.

I bought a 1 gig MicroSD card for my cell phone at the same time I bought Digital Concepts SD Card Reader. The Micro SD came with an adapter that allow me use the MicroSD card in the reader and transfer all my pictures and video from my phone to my computer. I can also transfer pictures and 3gp video from my computer to my phone with no problems. This is now a MUST have device for taking pictures and video with a cell phone. Great Little device!

By Keith W from Jamaica, NY on 6/26/2007

Its perfect, I even brough a 2 GB memory card for my camera not realizing my camera can only support 1GB, but the reader works PERFECTLY. If you have XP-S2 as an operatong system, then you even need the CD because the computer will automaticly recognize it as an external hard drive. The other card reader I have is too large for trips and this fits perfectly in every pocket. It's a must!!!

By Ed G from Clearwater, FL on 4/24/2007

I have used this converter drive for several months to download photo's from my SD card to my PC. I have never had any problems. I have used 512MG cards up to 2GB cards and they all work fine. I am very impressed with the speed of the transfer of files. I am now going to buy one for a friend so she has the same ease of use when transferring photos to her PC.

Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

I bought one to see if I could get the pictures from my camera onto my Mac since the manufacturer of my camera did not see fit to provide Mac drivers and my Mac could not see the camera. I put the SD card into the Reader, plugged it into a USB port on my Mac and iPhoto immediately recognized there were pictures to import. An invaluable accessory.

By Dan M from Royal Oak, MI on 11/9/2006
Pros:
Easy to use

Writing to the card is unreliable. Each time I try, about 1/4 of the files are corrupted and unreadable, and it then cannot even erase them. Corrupted the card so badly that my PDA couldn't even format it. I had to reformat in my camera, then could format in the PDA. Using a different reader, everything works fine. A waste of money--don't go near it.
