I was using this for audio cables on 1/4" TRS plugs. My cable is much narrower than typical mic/line cables so I needed to be able to have a pretty high shrink ratio. This product doesn't list it, so I took a chance. Appears it's only a 2:1 which wasn't nearly enough. If my audio cable was thicker then the 1/2" pieces would've been perfect.

Heat shrink only went to about half then quit shrinking. This might work for larger items, but did not shrink to fit the diodes for my truck. I could pull the diodes right back out after "shrinking".

Works just great for me! You do need a good heat gun, and I have mine set at 450 degrees Farenheit. I used the very small stuff to insulate LED leads right up against the LED itself without any problem.
