I've been using these as replacement tips in a Weller 8200 gun for ATLEAST 20 years. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with these items. If you keep the mounting nuts tight, they heat in a few seconds and will not damage the gun.

A great replacement tip for the Weller 8100, 8200 or D440(I have all three)... Apparently overloads some R/S model guns(based on other users comments)...

Bad buy. Makes buying the archer soldering gun pointless because this "replacement" tip burns the gun out. Mine burned right away.

I agree with the other reviewer...using this tip for 30 seconds caused smoke to come from the primary winding in my Radio Shack Soldering Gun #64-2187; a very poor match. Buying a Weller instead.

This is the worst soldering tip I have ever used. Its construction gives it a too low electrical resistance, therefore, most of the power will dissipate in your soldering gun. I almost fried mine with this tip. It takes over 1 minute of full power to heat it up to the point where it can melt the solder. By that time, your soldering gun will be really hot. Use at your own risc.
