This product is specifically described as solder flux for *electronics*. It's not really fair to give this product a bad rating when you did not use it for its intended purpose.
That said, it's probably still not such a bad thing to give people a heads-up that this isn't a good choice if you are looking for flux to solder brass railing pieces together. Just in case somebody else has such an idea. :)
A brazing compound or specialty flux for your application would be a better idea.
Solidering small brass rod for railings on model boat. It did not work nearly as well as what I was using. To messy, also.
It does the job.
This is the only flux this store sells so if you want flux this is it. It is not great but it is acceptable, certainly better than not using flux, the flux is just slightly too firm in the can, the brush has stiff bristles which is good for using with the flux. Unless you have a store where you can get something better, go ahead and use this, flux is often overlooked, but it both helps to clean what is being soldered and helps the solder flow correctly so you have better solder joints. Most solder has flux in it already, but this is not enough for a really professional job, it is also good to brush on to something you are going to desolder.
