I bought one of these meters back in 1984 for a project, and it is still going strong!!!! Excellent product.

I purchased one of these meters several years ago for a medical instrument project. It is in use every day since then. I removed its series resistor and it became a 1 milliampere full scale meter. Its internal resistance is 78 ohms. With 1000 ohms series resistor, driven by an operational amplifier, it has a very fast response. I hope Radio Shack will continue providing these meters.

I purchased one of these meters for a DC Power Supply project in 1982, yes it is still the same meter as back then. It has worked perfect on the front panel of that supply from day 1... It is a great value even at todays prices, just use it for what it was intended for !!

Pannel meters like this are the cornerstone of the home project. This one can be used also as an ammeter. THey work great in my solar energy management systems and ham projects, and i hope RS continues to make them.

Ordered product, disapointed at "Panel mount" wasn't aware when ordering it was just the guage, thought it would come in a self contained box, or at least have the option to buy one! Product will be too difficult to use as is and too fragile with the light weight connections for rigorous automotive use! You should have a version that comes in a box like multi-meters do, with wire connections.
