No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I have an electronic device that uses this lamp, and unfortunately I can't find another source for it.
The biggest problem with this lamp is that it has an unacceptable low life. I'm guessing that its life is probably under 500 hours when running below recommended voltage (8V vs. 12V) ... it burns out much faster at recommended voltage.
As I result, I have to open up the equipment and replace it about once a year. I've used about 6-8 of these lamps.
I wish I could find an alternate supplier.
I would buy this product again!!
