The Green leds will run 5 volts but the others wont so that is great!
Wired 2 of the smallest in series with 5vdc regulator (RadioShack 7805, 276-1770) and 25.2vac transformer. Measured 2.1vdc no load (rms), 1.51vdc & 3.1ma with leds. Worked fine for 4hrs continuous, then the 5vdc regulator popped. Yeah, I know, designed for dc input only. But, leds worked perfectly with pulsing (60hz) 1.5vdc.
I tested all of these at 2 volts forward and 30 mA current for about 10 seconds each without burning any out, so they're good for at least that. A nice, cheap selection of LED's for DIY indicators, etc. I knocked a star off because there are no specifications on the package, as others have noted, hence my note about testing them

I used these LEDs for a relay circuit and they worked great.
Be sure you put the LEDs in series with a resistor when you use them or they will burn out.
Otherwise great product.

My bag contained the following LEDs:- 14 5mm LEDs: 4 each of red, green, and yellow (all diffuse), and 2 clear yellow- 6 3mm LEDs: 2 each of red, green, and yellow (all diffuse)The two clear yellow ones actually look transparent, which may trick you into thinking into you're getting white LEDs here, but hey, what did you expect for [$]?Of course, your mileage may vary, but this gives you an idea of what to expect.

Great product, do NOT buy if you dont know HOW TO USE A LED. The package does not describe the voltages required to light these, current MUST be limited by a resistor. Everyone who comments about them burning up just didnt know how to use them. A LED can last tens of thousands of hours if used properly, however can burn out in SECONDS if current is not properyl limited. Other than that, its a great product, good price and their pretty bright (esp the CLEAR yellow ones). By knowledge, here are the avg. requirments for LEDs based on color.
RED = 1.8V - ~2.4V
YELLOW = 2.2V - ~2.8V
GREEN = 2.6V - ~3.0V
BLUE (not included) = 2.8V - ~3.2V
WHITE (not included) = 3.2V - ~3.6V
LEDS are VERY picky about voltage, eg, they will not light up if undervolted, and will "puff" if overvolted. All "standard" LEDS (not the "high power" ones) require about 20mA of current, and MUST have a resistor, if you want them to last long anyways.

Ok a couple blew that's completly my fault my question is the little ones are they 2v? and the big ones 3v? please help

These bulbs are fine, they HAVE to be used with a resistor, as about half the users comented that the bulbs burnt out the second they used them, or they didn't work at all. That should be a clear indication they are doing something wrong.
They work great, it's an awesome package for my current project, great deal for buying in bulk.

Out of the box impression was really bad... because I didn't realize that direction is really important. I think half of them is bad :) LOL Turned out that all of them works fine! Very good product for a price

I've purchased several of these packages, and all of the LEDs have always worked. It is generally a good idea to incorporate a current limiting resistor in series with these LEDs--I am guessing some of the previous reviewers failed to do this (and thus destroyed many of their LEDs by connecting them directly to a battery).

Horrible, I'm very upset with the quality of these bulbs. More disappointed that they came from Radio Shack (I put total faith in their products) I first tested with a 1.5 AA. when they did not light, I attempted with 2 AA batteries 3v. None of them lit at 1.5 (even a small amount of light would have shown me they were higher than 1.5, but due to the nondescript package, I assumed they were 3 across. One by one, some lit, some blew, at the end: 2 clear, 5 red, and 5 yellow dead. 6 green, 1 yellow, and 1 red lived.
This is a great pack for the price. I have currently bought 2 packs, and all of the LEDs work fine. I have noticed, though, that some of the LEDs of the same color don't light at the same voltage with the same amount of intensity. But still a very good pack.
I purchased three packages just to get enough of the smaller size with which to build illuminated fretboard markers for a bass guitar I'm building. Tested by picking five at random (four green, one yellow) and wiring in series to a 9V battery holder. All five lit up. One of the green ones seems very slightly less bright than the other green ones; the yellow one is noticeably brighter than the green ones - perhaps just a characteristic of the yellow ones? This wiring arrangement puts a measured 1.86 volts across each LED, which is a little low per the specs listed on this web site (2 - 3 volts, although the voltage is not mentioned on the packaging), but they look pretty much like full brightness to me at 1.86 volts - I may try running more voltage over one or two to see how bright they get without burning out. Excellent value, even if some of them turn out not to light up. Your mileage may vary, but I'd buy these again if I needed more LED's.

DONT BUY! I just bought this pack tonight... After testing the bulbs out, only 1 of the LED's actually works. The rest all burnt out the second i put a AA battery to them... Terrible quality! Mabe I just got a bad pack, but make sure that you consider them to be only partially-working before you buy them!

Great value. Radioshack doesn't specify what Leds are in the pack. I broke it down and there are 4 of each red, green and yellow 5mm leds, 2 yellow, clear lense 5mm leds and 2 of each yellow, green and red 3mm leds. This is a excellent deal for bulk leds.
This set offers a great value if you need some non-specific LEDs. The one drawback is the lack of detailed information for the LEDs contained in the pack. For the price, trial by fire isn't such a bad option.

not very good in fact when i used them half of them burned out.
Very good pack, considering the price. They give you many different colored LED's including regular size ones, and smaller ones. The LED's are just as good quality. Considering the price, its an awesome deal. Dont buy individual ones, get this pack.
