This actually worked perfectly fine for me, on both male and female pins. Also works for weatherpack connectors if you're careful.

A little tip. You can take apart old antennas from radio controlled cars/ radios (the ones you pull to extend out) and use the different sizes of the antenna as a tool to do the same thing.
Comments about RadioShack Pin Extractor:
The plunger that pushes the pin out is to long so it doesn't seat correctly over the male pins. If you loosen the plunger retaining nut and back the plunger out a few turns it works fine. It removes female pins with no problem right out of the package.
Comments about RadioShack Pin Extractor:
The plunger that pushes the pin out needs to be adjustable in length for male and female pins, or maybe it could just be a little shorter. It doesn't seat all the way down on the male pins unless you loosen the plunger's retaining cap, but it works perfectly on female pins right out of the package.

I can do better with adental pic than with this tool!
Comments about RadioShack Pin Extractor:
The tool is meant to fit both male and female pins but of course the female pins have a larger O.D. As a result the tool is actually too large to compress the locking tabs on the male pins, making it impossible to remove the pins from the connector. Very frustrating and a waste of money and connectors. Radio Shack needs to be selling a tool that fits both male and female pins properly.
