Not for thick spade lugs
By HVerified Reviewer from Union City CA on 4/11/2008
Cons:
Incompatible

Gearhead
Primary use:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Banana Plug (2-Pack):

I got these after seeing a picture that another reviewer posted. I tried to use spade lugs and these don't unscrew enough before separating. The threads on the two pieces wouldn't come near each other with the spade lug in place.

With thin spade lugs these would work, but be careful. Aside from that they seem well made, but I could not use them.

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Banana Plug (2-Pack):

I was looking into a way in which I didn't need to remove the spades of my speaker cable. The monster cable was pricey. Then I came across this at radioshack. The screw held the spade. I was able to connect my spade terminated speaker cable with this to the banana plug binder post. It allowed me to quickly remove one set of cable with another st of cables. All of my speaker cables are now using this as an adapter.

Without the Monster Cable price!

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Banana Plug (2-Pack):

Simply the best budget solution for high-end gear. They work great with my Linn LK100 and Dynaudio speakers. If you're not into spending serious money on connectors then these are for you! Great quality at a nice price.

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Banana Plug (2-Pack):

Gold is a necessity and these make a great clean connection. Of course they don't work for Bose, they are designed for higher end audio. We've all heard the old saying: "highs and lows, it must be Bose".

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Banana Plug (2-Pack):

These are great - they will save you endless hours of finger twisting wire hanging madness while you rearrange your stereo gear.

Make sure your system can take banana plugs! Most high end gear does - look for the words "five way binding post."

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Banana Plug (2-Pack):

These plugs suck, Bose doesn't make 14 gauge wire for their speakers.
If your useing floor thumpers they'll work,if your useing high end Bose speakers-leave these on the shelf.

Great clips, very easy to ...
By Brad N from Dallas, TX on 6/8/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Banana Plug (2-Pack):

Great clips, very easy to use. Simply unscrew, insert your wire, and tighten. A little pricier than the basic clips, but no crimping and much cheaper than similar high-end connectors.
