This is a nice meter, if and only if it would read correct.
As a True-RMS meter, it's readings should be about .707 times the full sine wave peak, as opposed to an average meter reading .673 times the full sine wave peak.

This meter reads approximately 10% lower than (3) average meters (Fluke, Amprobe and Field Piece), on voltage AC and amperes AC. It reads even lower compared to other True-RMS meters. The temperature reading is off by about 5 degrees (a result of a voltage DC reading problem).

The hz and capacitor reads correct though.

The DC current zero worked a few days ago. But it is now useless. I already have a pile of meters that measure just about everything, except Amps. Oh, I guess I still do.
I am retired Electronics Engineer. This is not a cockpit problem.

This device works as it should. The low raters are newbs with this advanced device. however i will say the instructions need to be better for people not used to using such a advanced device.

I bought this for the ability to measure DC current in the 4A-40A range. It doesn't work.

When measuring a wire with no current, it reads between 7A and 9.5A. All measurements are off by roughly that amount.

The meter cannot be zeroed! There is a button marked "zero", but when you press it the display goes to zero and the word "ZERO" appears on the LCD. Unfortunately in this mode, ALL readings are zero -- even wires with currrent! Pressing the "zero" button again turns this mode off, but it goes right back to reading high by about 7-9.5A. In other words, switching into "zero" mode and back doesn't do anything.

I think there's a serious bug in the meter design -- it can't be zeroed -- and Radio Shack just won't fix it.

Great concept for the price but different functions out of calibration or don't work. Amps won't zero, resistance won't work, voltage gives incorrect readings, and more. Can't get it calibrated or fixed and won't buy another.

piece of junk only a 90 day warrenty capacitor meter dosent work clamp meter wont zero.

fantastic device, especially for the price!

this meter handles home and auto detection.
very few manufacturers carry this range of features, and such a simple interface.

you will need the zero function that it has!
