Product Summary

Easy to carry, easier to set up.

Connect to the Internet using any hotspot with the NETGEAR Wireless-N 300 USB Adapter. It's about the size of a pack of gum making it easy to carry in a purse or pocket. The adapter supports Windows® Vista/XP/2000 and features a USB 2.0 connection for wide compatibility at high speeds. A removable port cover keeps the connector protected from dings and dirt. And, it uses the Wireless-N protocol for speeds up to 300Mbps and a range ten times that of 802.11g adapters when paired with a NETGEAR Wireless-N Router.

  • Customized cradle allows for flexible adapter placement and consistent wireless signals
  • Supports WPA-PSK, WPA-2-PSK and WEP security
  • Delivers consistent wireless connections with fewer dropped connections or dead spots
  • Use the adapter for a laptop or with the included cradle for a desktop PC

    Unreliable/Dinosaur of a driver

        Comments about NETGEAR® Wireless-N 300 USB Adapter:

        More Cons:
Installed the driver on my 64 bit machine and after about an hour of non-compliance it connected to my router. That was manageable, but its random disconnecting from my router is not.

How to fix this? Disconnect and reconnect? Nope. Restart your computer? Nope. Uninstall and reinstall driver? YEP!

Needless to say, after 2 weeks of this and no box to return it in, I attached it to one of my son's M-80's.

        You've been warned.

        More Pros:
        Comes with a cool cradle...?

          Comments about NETGEAR® Wireless-N 300 USB Adapter:

Tried to use on a Windows Me computer and it installed, 2000/ XP/ 7 / 8 the same. Even my Apple computer where able to use it. However, even with Wine and the supplied drivers from NetGear's site for linux, still not working. Would really like this to be added as their PPA is not longer supported and the amount of users moving to linux is incraseing rapidly.

Absolute no suggestion of loss of speed moving main computer off direct wire to router and using this device. Enabled me to move router to the center of the house and get full coverage.

                  Comments about NETGEAR® Wireless-N 300 USB Adapter:

Purchased this yesterday at a nearby RS. Using it for a desktop and our provider is Verizon Fios. Setting this up was a breeze. Loaded the software cd first and then plugged in the USB Adapter when prompted. It immediately recognized my FIOS router, plugged in my WEP encryption code, and was up and running. Took less than 5 minutes to be on the internet.
