Hard to find tape cleaners so I bought at Radio Shack as they had one, wish I would've seen reviews. I have a Canon ZR100 mini-DV, used the head cleaner multiple times with no effect on machine.

Does not work with Sony camera's. I question the quality of the products that Radio Shack puts their name on.

While it was recognized by my Canon camcorder it did not clean the heads. I did use if as suggested on the packaging. After that didn't work, I decided to let it "clean" for longer (10 minutes). That didn't work either. Then, since the manual for my camcorder suggested to apply some water to the brush, I did that and let it clean again. Unfortunately, the heads still remain dirty. I am going to return it ASAP.

Worked OK with panasonic camera, but had to get universal cleaning solution into fibers before using...then it cleaned a really dirty head...

Sony Handycam immediately demands that the device be removed. Maybe works for other apps, but not Sony.

This device does not work with a Sony DCR-HC96. I bought it before reading the reviews here and will attempt to return it to the store. The camera does not recognize the tape and the provided instructions are useless. Do not buy this.

Camera does not recognize this device. There's no cleaning tape, just brushes. No moving parts, cam has no idea what to do. Waste of money, I'm taking it back.

To be honest, I really expect more from a company that specializes in electronics. Did ANYONE at the company try this thing out on a wide range of cams? Or ask the manufacturer to do so? Now because of this complete lack of testing, how many of us will be going to the store, buying this thing, putting it in our cams, finding out it's worthless, posting on this site, then bringing the thing back. What a waste of time and effort, not to mention the materials and distribution expenses going into this "product".

Did not function on my Sony camcorder, heads won't spin up because of error message. According to instructions, error message shouldn't be a problem.....how can it clean if the heads don't move?

ALMOST bought this..... thing. All it is is a microfiber brush that sticks out of the "cassette" case! The brush does NOT move, oscillate,vibrate, nothing!!!! NONE of the tape guides get cleaned because there is nothing that comes out of the cassette. The drum gets NO cleaning either! YOU are PAYING for a MOLDED case and a mickey mouse brush!!! STAY VERY FAR AWAY!!!!

I've just returned from RadioShack where I picked up this cleaner. I should have known better since in the past tape based devices I've had used a tape driven cleaner. This product does nothing. I'm completely out of [$] I will pursue RadioShack with all the info I have to see what can be done, but please stay away from this piece of junk. I may not be an audio/video expert, but I do have a BS in Computer Science and have worked in Corporate America long enough to recognise useless products.
