        Comments about RadioShack® Heavy-Duty Automatic Wire Cutter/Stripper:

This tool didn't last very long. Used very few times until one of the springs broke and Radio Shack said after 30 days its yours. They said I should have bought their extended warranty and they would have replaced it. They did not have replacement springs for it either.

          Comments about RadioShack® Heavy-Duty Automatic Wire Cutter/Stripper:

Classic Trains article recommended for where you have to reach up under a set-up and seperate insulation to twist a new wire around the new area that was bared in-line with tool(one example) . Thought such a great idea with their pic that I bought one. Disappointed that R.S. won't add a small piece of paper telling you what everything and where every spot a crimp goes for what size. Thanks for nothing R.S.- like it would break you! Printing on right handle too small- needed magnifing glass to read due to contrast in dark color with black ink on it! I am truly impressed with overall quality of manufacture though. Looks and feels like a well thought out tool- just ashamed you couldn't help consumer with info.

          Comments about RadioShack® Heavy-Duty Automatic Wire Cutter/Stripper:

By far, these are the best wire strippers I have ever used. I get a perfect strip every time with no wire damage. The adjustable strip length feature is especially nice.

Another nice bonus are the crimpers in the handle. Great for adding terminals to freshly stripped wires.

              Comments about RadioShack® Heavy-Duty Automatic Wire Cutter/Stripper:

does not work well on all plastic coated wires. Score/stretch action does not work effectively on more elastic wire coverings and results in wire damage and stretched covering. I wish the product label specified this.

              Comments about RadioShack® Heavy-Duty Automatic Wire Cutter/Stripper:

This is a wonderful automatic wire stripper. Easy, fast, convenient, consistent. There are no instructions with it and it looks confusing to use at first until you figure it out.

Just lay the wire across the opening and squeeze the handle together. The 2 jaws drop down and grab the wire and strip the wire with no fuss. You can set the length of the strip by adjusting the red stop.

The only negative I could think of is that some times, the stripped insulation will stay inside the crimper and need to be manually removed in order to do the next strip. Also, the lack of instructions can confuse first time users.

Great tool at a great price.
