Comments about RadioShack® AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio:

I use these radio headphones while doing chores around the house and while I'm out walking. I have been buying similar headphones from Radio Shack for decades. There are almost no radio headphones left on the market; these work great, they're durable, and I hope RS stocks them for years to come.

Comments about RadioShack® AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio:

I bought this a couple months ago to wear at the gym to hear the TVs with an FM signal. it worked fine for 1 month, then a new battery, fine for another month, then another batter, fine for 1 week, then a new battery, fine for 1 day and no battery is working at all. I brought it back to my local store in Peterborough NH and they said I had it too long, couldnt do anything, checked it out, said it was junk, said I shouldn't have used it at a gym, it says in the description for work outs. Tried to sell me another one or more expensive product. No way, I will buy elsewhere. Radioshack should stand buy their brand products.

Comments about RadioShack® AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio:

I bought this to replace my dead Model 931. It will do that, marginally, until i can get another 931. With no digital tuning, tiny controls, and no memory presets, i will have to stop what i'm doing and take time to change stations instead of it being a one-fingered intuitive and easy to use maneuver. The 931's sound was better, too. (Was that because the tuning was precise?)
... The second headband is a great idea -- the reason this has two stars instead of one.

                  • Listening to AM news

Comments about RadioShack® AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio:

For my main purpose of listening to distant AM news and talk radio, it's excellent. It picks up stations 500 to 1,000 miles away. There's very little directional fade when changing positions. The sound quality on AM is good for small speakers. The controls are too recessed and difficult to find and operate. But, once it's tuned, it isn't easily bumped off its position.

For FM, it's not so good. There's no AFC and if the reception and tuning aren't exactly right, the stereo effect is garbled. The larger digital-tuning model would be best for FM and music.
