I just wanted something to better amplify my toshiba laptop's speakers. It easily adjusts to top of computer screen and really makes the sound better. To test it I played both opera and dubstep, and while it might not be the best speaker ever, for it's price, durability (dropped it twice- its totally fine), and sound, it's a great choice. The only thing I would change is the attachment to the screen, when i tilt the screen down, the speaker falls or i have to readjust it. Then again, I just place it next to the computer.

The price and the quality are very decent. Now, about how to make this adhere better to your netbook? Buy either small circle Velcro strips or a small picture easel (both under 5 $) and you can stick the speaker more securely on the netbook screen and back of the lid OR get a small picture easel and rest it on that next to your netbook.. Be resourceful and quit whining. Just use your imagination as I did and this baby really does it's job of increasing better fidelity on a small netbook. Cheers!

Plug and Play support with Mac OS X Lion: just go to System Preferences >> Sound >> Click USB Audio.
Sounds great, very loud. Don't expect ground breaking audio but it's reasonably clear at low volumes, good at medium (which is still loud) volume. Sits atop laptop screen, but webcam is still usable. Will drain battery, as it plugs into your laptop and gets power from there. If you need it, it'll work.

I volunteer at an assisted living home where I provide various stimulating activities to engage my group of seniors. Last week I brought my laptop so that I could play CD's with music from the Big Band era. The problem, of course, is that the volume on the laptop was much too low. I then visited my local Radio Shack in search of a speaker, and thought that for this low sale price, I could not go wrong. Oh, my goodness...this is one lightweight, easy to use bar speaker. The volume and sound are full. I keep the bar next to my computer. I LOVE it. Great product, Radio Shack!

I purchased this speaker because, due to a problem that is nearly irreparable, I cannot use my laptop's internal speakers. I tested it and the sound quality is fine for my purposes, but it fell off of my laptop not five minutes into use, not surprising considering that the "fastener" is a piece of plastic that swings down and hangs over the back of the laptop, much like over door hooks. This design simply doesn't work on something as thin as a laptop, and even if your computer is sitting stationary on a desk, the speaker will come crashing down onto your keyboard. If you want it to stay, you're going to have to tape it on.

The Gigaware 26-1520 laptop speaker works well and is a good value with decent mid-range. No, it is not Bose. You want thumping bass, spend the $. The attaching clip works fine, I don't know what you reviewers who say it doesn't stay on are doing with your laptop. For storage, the cord wraps tight around the body and the USB snaps on top. All of it goes in a drawstring bag. I was after form, function, mobility and a good price. A pleasant surprise to get it all.

IT'S NOT AS GOOD SPEAKER LIKE I THOUGHT. DON'T GIVE OFF ENOUGH SOUND, IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR LISTENING TOO. THE DOWN BAR THAT HOLDS THE SPEAKER ON TOP OF THE COMPUTER IS NOT STURDY UNLESS YOUR WORKING ON A FLAT SURFACE. Unless your laptop is completely stationary on a desk, the speaker will fall off every two seconds. The fastener is just a fold down clip in back, doesn't work at all.
