Installed Enercell D batteries in all my Mag-Lite flashlights. Four of the flashlights were destroyed by the leakage of Radio Shack alkaline batteries.In a few months over $100 worth of Mag-Lites were garbage.Some of them still lit, even though the batteries were eating through the shell and corroding the inside so bad that they never could be removed. Don't take the chance of installing these batteries in anything of value

Bought an 8 pack to keep in reserve, marked as "use before 2017", in less than a year, I got them out to use and the plastic original packaging was full of cloudy liquid with corrosion on several batteries.

I used these in a Grundig Radio and a Sirius radio boombox. They lasted SEVERAL months longer than a generic brand I found on sale at a later date. I can't think of a reason to buy any other battery from now on.

Bought D cell 8 pack in December 2010 to have as spares used a couple a few months ago and they were fine. Just went to use some more and all of them are leaking out of both ends. Suppose to be good until 2017. Well they aren't. Tried returning them and was told tough luck they were over 30 days old. Never will buy batteries from Radio Shack again.

I needed several size D batteries for three remote doorbell ringers in my large house. I never had a Radio Shack alkaline battery leak in any of my devices and they have performed well above average in components that require long shelf life and intermittent power.
They will drain quickly with devices that require higher amperage such as musical instruments. I haven't seen any alkaline battery on the market that performs better anyway in musical instruments. You might want to go with an oneloop or hybrid rechargeable battery in those type of applications. Radio Shack has a good supply of those.
