I needed more 12 volt outlet to power my GPS, Phone, and 110volt converter. I was originally looking for a corded box with multiple outlet but this style works better for my vehicle.

I needed multiple power sources for a variety of accessories...GPS, rear view camera AND monitor, phone charger, Blue Tooth speakerphone charger. The Shack's triple plug adapter solved the problem very nicely...two outputs power the camera and a double output extension powering the GPS and rear view monitor connected under the seat. The adapter is small, rigid and easily oriented in a single car outlet...I have an '04 CRV whose outlet is down near the emergency brake lever...angling the 3 in-line adapter in towards the center console avoids the lever while still leaving the storage space under the coin tray/ash tray open and clears the gear shift. The rigidity allows for a switched connector (also available from the Shack) for the rear view camera to turn on/off (I wanted more flexibility than connecting it to the reverse light). The adapter is reasonably priced, available in stores and completely satisfies my needs.
