I have used two of these - RadioShack brand but otherwise identical - for several years. They are a very convenient source of power for various projects in my hamshack, where I have used them 24/7 for long periods of time. Voltage is very "stiff", unlike most wall-warts.

It was very hard to find an adapter that furnishes the low 1.5 volts I needed for my weather station; most all other adapters supplied 3v and up. The 300 ma current rating is more than adequate for my needs. I was so glad to be able to find this unit. This unit replaces parallel connected AAA batteries which only lasted a month or so. Very satisfactory.

just a word on the 6 tips that are included. I don't know who decides which tips to include out of the two dozen or so that radioshack has to offer, but... tips "E' and "F" are useless. Been working in electronics for several years and NEVER had a use for them. tips "H" "L" and "J" are highly uncommon. That leaves only one tip "M". this one actually fits many common devices. If you find yourself looking for a tip and its not one of these, the most common one "B" "N" and "C" tips. "A" tips are the really small diameter tips. Radioshack should know all this from their sales already and included those instead.

This product was purchased when i found out that 273-316 had innacurate info since it did not have a 1.5v setting so this was the next best thing but it as much lower amperage.
