I use these batteries for my cordless phones and it works great. They charge up fast and hold a longer charge 2 times longer then the phone manufacturer suggests. I got these when they were on sale for [$] for the 4 pack.

Bought 4 of these batteries 10 months ago to replace the originals in my 2 Philips cordless phone remotes, and they just don't perform. Even if they are at full charge, placing the phones in "speaker" brings the charge down to zero in about 15 seconds. I'm not convinced these are really NiMh cells as it doesn't mention it on the batteries themselves. Don't waste your money.

Bought these to replace some solar light batteries AAA Ni-Mh 650 1.2, [...].They came already charged. First night they worked very well, second night not as bright, by fourth night very dim. Thought maybe the panel in the top of the lights had gone bad. Switched them out with lights that were still working fine on the older original batteries. The batteries wouldn't charge up in these lights either, but the lights that had the old batteries charged and ran bright as usual. These are junk for a solar powered device. Don't buy.

These batteries are a solid choice for the right devices. Good uses would include portable electronics with high current draw, where the batteries are typically recharged regularly after a day or a few days of use, or charged in preparation for planned use.

Rechargeable NiMH batteries are not a suitable replacement for alkaline batteries in all applications. There are two things that might be an issue:

1. Their lower output voltage under low load might not be compatible with some devices. The reported problem with a DISH remote is likely caused by the lower voltage.

2. Conventional NiMH batteries have a fairly high self-discharge rate (in other words, they will go dead after a couple of months on the shelf) so they are not well-suited to applications where they will sit on the shelf for long periods of time. Poor applications would include remote controls, flashlights, emergency radios, and electronics where the user expects the device to work after a long period of non-use. There are other NiMH batteries, such as the Lenmar Ready-To-Go that are sold on radioshack.com, which will suit those applications.
