    Comments about RadioShack® High-Gain HDTV-FM Signal Amplifier:

I installed this pre-amp to improve channel quality on a couple channels I was having intermittent issues with. They all improved, plus i got a couple more to come in! Hopefully this little guy lasts a long time!

    Comments about RadioShack® High-Gain HDTV-FM Signal Amplifier:

Bought to amplify a 300+ ft cable run from attic antenna to opposite side of the house. After installing and losing signal strength and channels I double checked the box and instructions to ensure proper setup. Was dissapointed to find I was missing a coax cable and u-clamp accessories. Unfortunately work schedule got in the way of returning the item so I ate the loss. Weeks later I decided to tinker and took the device apart only to find the coax attachment adapters were floating inside the unit unattached. Soldered the adapters back in and hooked it up with higher hopes. Unfortunately still no amplification. We'll see if other parts of the device are broken as I tinker further in the coming weeks. Radioshack quality control really failed on this one.

          Comments about RadioShack® High-Gain HDTV-FM Signal Amplifier:

No appreciable difference. I installed this to improve the weaker signals, but there was virtually no difference (good or bad) in signal strength, regardless of gain setting. I know some people have had a positive experience, but for me, it was $50 that I didn't need to spend. Live and learn!

            Comments about RadioShack® High-Gain HDTV-FM Signal Amplifier:

I got this amp since I had signal loss when I hooked up a network DVR tuner. This amp pulled in all channels I only rarely could get and pulled in many more that I didn't know where in range. As a frame of reference, I live in a very hilly part of Upstate NY.

Live in lake county Ohio. Bought to try to get more cleveland/ Akron stations. Used for attic antenna (HOA) won't let me put one outside. I recieve 17 channels with current antenna. Amp helped to give a better signal strengh to current stations, but no new channels. Was worth a try, easy return policy from radio shack

                Comments about RadioShack® High-Gain HDTV-FM Signal Amplifier:

I have used Radio Shack antenna amplifiers in the past and was satisfied with their performance. However, this device would only amplify UHF frequencies, which it did quite well, but seemed to actually attenuate high VHF frequencies.(It took a lot of trial and error to figure this out.) Ended up removing the device(s) and installed a simple distribution amp directly from my antenna and this worked much better. Don't buy this device if the channels in your area include high VHF.

Prior to using this we only picked up 8 hd channels.
after installing we got 20 from a distance of over 60 miles from the broadcast tower here in south GA
if you are a long distance from the tower, get a good antenna, and one of these and you will be very happy

I have been using these amplifiers in subsequent models from radio shack for almost 20 years now. To date I have not found anything that works better. The only downfall to this product is that they only last 2 to 3 years and then have to be replaced. In the long run though, it is still cheaper than cable.

Product works great. I live about 75 miles from the TV transmitters that I wanted to pick up, could not pick them up with just the antenna. Matter of fact most of the channels in my area I could not pickup, purchased this amplifier and installed it and now I can pickup the stations I need plus other channels that I did not know were around me. Nice product that seems to work with no issues, been up now for 6 months with no problems. If you are having reception problems try one, it just may help like it did for me.
