Ka Max mode enabled will give you solid Ka-band performance. K-band against Instant On or Quick Trigger, you're going to get a ticket (if speeding). Turning POP off will cut down on your false alarms. If you're going to spend almost $200.00 on this, spend a little more and get a detector that aggressively covers all the radar bands.

At first it gave a lot of inaccurate readings, but that is because I DIDN'T READ THE MANUAL.

After reading the manual, I turned off the K and X bands, leaving Laser and Ka band on. I haven't received a false alert since. It has alerted me to a cop using radar up to 0.5 miles away, even when the cop wasn't visible.

It also shows the power of the signal next to the band, so you can guess how close you are to the radar source.
Great detector for highway driving.
