Cons Best Uses Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: I live in the North Port Fl area, mounted outside and pick up 26 channels from Tampa to Naples. Awesome HD picture on half of those channels. Pros

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: I've tried many large antennas to pick up VHF High Ch 7 and 10 which are 42 miles away. Some of those large antennas picked up Ch 10 but not Ch 7 and they were to big for the house. So I bought this one, and I was skeptical if it would pick up VHF Ch 7 until I scan the channels and WOW it picked up Ch 7 and 10 at 98%. Let's not talk about the UHF channels, they came in at 100%. Whomever design this pizza size antenna is a genius. No need for those monster size antennas anymore.

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: Bought this for my mother who recent bought a new HD TV. She lives between Tampa FL and Fort Myers FL. This antenna picked up 46 stations from both Tampa and Fort Myers. The picture quality was also excellent on most stations. We are very pleased with it.

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: I'm using this as a replacement for an indoor antenna which was only getting 10 of the 14 local channels. I installed it at roof level of the first floor now I'm getting 20 channels. Now my local channels aren't cutting out. The hardest thing about installing the antenna was bolting in the anttenna which wasn't that hard.

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: Our location is about 25 to 30 miles from the nearest stations and there are hills in the way, so we are on the 2Edge (not LOS) of the signal. We are picking up all the network stations plus many more for a total of 70 stations.

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: After reading all the positive comments I decided to give it a try, especially because of it's small size and the ability to install it on the same location as my old satellite dish. Also, when I read a review that said it was almost omnidirectional I felt it had a chance. Well I am impressed. After receiving 2 of the strong stations from my living room, I went ahead and tried it on the roof. The weaker station that was also a "green" zone according to antennaweb but I couldn't pick up from my living room came in once I pointed the antenna in the general direction on the roof. Here's the thing. That station is at 75 deg. 21 mi., the other stronger ones are at 198 deg.45 mi., and I also got the "red" zone channel at 290 deg. 47 mi. I live about 2 miles from the southern edge, and 3 miles from the western edge of the city.

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: Very impressed with this antenna. Better than expectations. Per specs, this should have only picked up about half of the stations. Picked up every available station. Live in a major city with towers about 50+ miles away.

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: I bought this after my old one was struck by lightning. I'm REALLY happy with it. I live 65 miles from the nearest transmitter and it pulls it with no problem! I'm even getting stations from almost 100 miles away!!! I LOVE IT.

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: I installed this antenna in the attic of my home and was able to pick up all of the local channels. I am 35-45 miles from the towers and this antenna outperformed all other antennas I have tried.

Comments about Antennacraft® HDX1000 Amplified HDTV Antenna: I have installed four of these Antennacraft HDX1000 antennas and every install, though wildly different, has resulted in an excellent picture. If you don't have room for a large directional antenna give this one a try. It works surprisingly well in all but the ruralest locations and is almost omni-directional. It probably is not a good choice if you live in a really rural location but semi-rural, suburban, and urban locations this antenna seems to do well. It's not real picky about direction. Point it in the general direction of the transmission towers and it will grab the signal. I have installed one in semi-rural Florida, one in Rapid City South Dakota, and two in outlying Pittsburgh Pa. Three of the four installs were attic installs. This antenna has not failed to impress!
