    Comments about Eveready® EB-246 9V Carbon-Zinc Specialty Battery:

Yes this product is getting hard to find. This due to the great improvement in life-cycle of Alkaline cells and the large current capabilities of the Alkaline.

However, these are still a desired battery because a lot of "antique" transistor radios/equipment has a specific size of real estate allocated for the original 9 volt battery and no spare room. Even though the Alkaline battery literature claims to be a direct replacement it is notably larger and will not fit the old stuff.

I don't like the price here either, so that just means we all have to search further.

    Good Luck, MM

    Comments about Eveready® EB-246 9V Carbon-Zinc Specialty Battery:

Zinc-Carbon batteries 9v batteries are supposed to be dirt cheap because it is old tech. Radio Shack is trying to rip people off because they aren't easy to find.
