Very easy to install.. I unplugged the positive and negative to the old battery and plugged in to the new battery.. 2 minutes to install.. 15 minutes and the battery alarm went away..

As an burglar and fire alarm technician, I recommend these batteries to my customers willing to change out the batteries for themselves. If I I have to make a service call to change it, I charge a little more than twice the cost of this battery (for parts, gas, etc.)

Please note that if you have a 12v 8Ah battery and you switch to a 12v 4Ah battery, the 4Ah battery will not provide back-up power for your equipment as long as an 8Ah can. This is especially important if you have a lot of powered devices on your alarm system (multiple keypads, motion detectors, glass-breakage detectors, smoke detectors, etc.)

Alarm service said needed new battery. So to save service charge I took battery info off existing battery and searched radioshack.com. Same battery and simple to change.

We used this battery for an ADT safewatch 3000 system and it cleared our faults with low battery and smoke detectors within 24 hours. So far so good!

When the warning light on our alarm system came on a quick call to the service indicated the main battery in the control panel (generally located in the basement) needed replacement. Alarm companies sometimes charge $100 to replace these, but you can easily do it yourself. Just match the existing battery specifications with Radio Shack. The product arrived on time and the alarm warning light went out as soon as I changed the battery. Served the purpose and saved money.
