The signal is weak and it goes in and out all the time.I can't even connect my moms nook or my sisters kindle fire to it doesn't pick up any signal at all.I'ma try to get a new one maybe it's acting like that because it's out dated.

By all means, do not listen to previous reviews. If you can live without N class wireless speeds, this is arguably to best consumer grade wireless router ever produced! It has an excellent radio in it that will provide years and years of service!

Cisco (Linksys) doesn't service this anymore, unless you buy their troubleshooting service package after the warranty. They won't let you access the settings on the website if you get a new modem. They try and sell you a new one instead. Their service SUCKS!

Always drops connection to my 360. When it does work it has a really bad lag.

Wasn't too difficult to setup for a PC. Connecting Wii, Xbox 360, Desktop running XP and a laptop running Vista. I have family members whom I setup their laptops to use when they come over. True that the Xbox can be a challenge with the NAT setting but I found the help with those settings on the xbox support site. I was able to set the router to give the xbox the highest priority, therefore reducing latency while playing online fps. This router is located on the second floor of my home and I have access outdoors and everywhere indoors including the basement. So far this has been bullet proof and most times I find that problems with this device are operator errors and a lack of understanding of the devices true potential. Most folks should pay someone to setup a device like a router.

I got this router specifically because it supports the Tomato firmware (google for it, it's free and open source). The firmware from Linksys/Cisco kinda sucks but the Tomato firmware makes managing multiple users with high bandwidth and low latency needs a breeze. It looks good and works great.

I now run Skype calls while my housemate does torrents and the Skype signal sounds better, with lower latency than my phone line. This was not the case with my older Netgear WGT624. Granted, this is after I spent some time configuring QoS.

Again, the built-in firmware on this router sucks. Buy the router and install Tomato.

we bought this for use wiht a laptop,PS3,XBOX360, and Wii we have had constant weak signal problems and manny times we have had to re-set it along with our comcast modem a problem the comcast tecs insist is the router we ended up buying a better router(difirent brand)and have no problems so stay away from this one unless you like being without a wireless network and wasting money

The wrt54g is a good router but it is a nightmare for gamers. From my personal experience, I can say that the biggest problem with this router is the Nat setting. If it is set on strict or even moderate there is pretty much no way to get it to open. This causes a player-to-player connectivity problem. It is not an absolute problem but it does reduce the amount of players you can connect to. The people you can or cannot connect to seems arbitrary but no one is sure. Many other routers can easily change their Nat setting but this router makes it extremely difficult.
