Comments about RadioShack® Amplified HDTV Antenna:

I tried other antennas, but never picked up all local network channels in west Knoxville, TN until an online comparison report lead me to this one. It provides very consistent signal strength for all channels. I use it to complement local channels received from Dish, as it doubles my DVR capability from 2 to 4 recordings simultaneously. A great value for the entertainment received.

Comments about RadioShack® Amplified HDTV Antenna:

Since ditching cable over a year ago, I've had a flat antenna that degraded over time until I couldn't get any channels anymore. It was difficult to find a place to put it that would receive a signal. This little gem is less expensive and you can move the rabbit ears around to optimize the signal. It's not exactly a design work of art, but it works, and that's the main thing, right?

      Was skeptical at first.....

Comments about RadioShack® Amplified HDTV Antenna:

Gave up on my cable few months ago to save some money as it was getting expensive for channels don't even watch.
I became a constant user of Netflix and Hulu as an alternative. But was missing the local channels, like the simple everyday stuff, news, shows and sports.

So i never owned a pair of rabbit antenna ears before and decided to give it a try. Bought the antenna came home and tried it on my 1990's 60" projection screen tv in bedroom, it didn't work.
Later, found out it needed a analog/digital converter box.
It did work on my digital flat screen tv in my living room but not the channels I wanted, so I became skeptical and frustrated.
After doing some research and looking into the "tvfool" site as others mentioned. I began to slowly move/tilting the unit and the circle and point it NorthEast which is the direction the channels were.
Catching the rest of the channels I orignally wanted by doing program scans with every other movement and better reception.
The rabbit ears I just extended and moved left to right, im not sure if they go back and forth it showed resistant and didn't want to risk and break them.

Totally Satisfied with this product. Installs in minutes and with some patience. I'm able to watch all the Major Networks news, shows, sports in my area for free, and its mostly cloudy today 66 Degrees!!

All in all I have 13 Channels even though it says 6 in program scan. It is more than enough for me.

        50 TELEMUNDO
        64 WNAC's FOX

        showing educational,western,80's-90's movies,shows,sports :)

I am going back to buy another antenna like this for my bedroom with the analog/digital converter I need for my 1990's screen projector tv

        Hope this helps,
        GoodLuck!

Comments about RadioShack® Amplified HDTV Antenna:

Dropped cable for OTA at my new apartment, where I can only have an inside antenna. Using a DVR so I need a reliable signal. This antenna works OK even without the amplifier. With the amplifier on, I only get a few glitches on my weakest channel, which used to be very spotty. My only concern is that it's one more device drawing a few watts all the time; electric power isn't free.

I cancelled the cable and switched to this antenna. For the price it's good. I live in a bottom floor condo in Seattle and get the major channels, but I do have to power it off and on every few days because I'll loose channels for some reason.

Comments about RadioShack® Amplified HDTV Antenna:

I got this to replace a much older Radio Shack rabbit ears. The TV had stopped receiving one of the local stations and I had been unable to tune it in, and then lost all the stations while messing with it. I thought perhaps the old switches or connections had loosened and figured $20 for a new one might be a good investment. (It was on sale.) Plus the salesperson pointed to this one when i asked her which one she would recommend. But I was disappointed that this one was no improvement. Furthermore, one of the rabbit ear peices broke almost as soon as I extended it, as a result of my hitting it by accident. I was surprised as I did not think I had hit it very hard. It is pretty thin and broke too easily in my view.
My other complaint is that the directions are not very clear. We have had only digital over the air broadcasts for some years, and the VHF band was given up, as I understand it. But the directions still refer to VHF and are not clear on which part of the antenna should be needed for digiatl stations, or how to aim it.

Comments about RadioShack® Amplified HDTV Antenna:

We tried several other models from other stores, and saw this one rated on Consumer Reports. The rating we saw noted that different antennas work in different houses (depending on all the things that can change your reception), but the fine-tuning on this one allows us to get all the channels we want!

NOTE: My use is FM Radio only!! Have not used for TV reception and probably will not because I'm using it in the basement of my house.

Works good, even without the AC adapter plugged in, plug in the AC adapter and voila! Stations pull in very nicely. Clean, no static, reliable.
