GMRS are selective and need a license. C.B.'s are old hat,no license and it's easier to use. No promblem with the rules on usage either.

            Comments about Midland® 75-822 Mini 40-Channel CB Radio w/ Weather/All-Haz:

This radio has it all, I spend about 3 months out of the year camping and hunting so having a basic cb communications and wx radio is a life savor. This radio keeps in touch with the weather when I'm out in the woods and I've been caught in many of thunderstorms. A must have for anyone who spends time in the outdoors.

            Comments about Midland® 75-822 Mini 40-Channel CB Radio w/ Weather/All-Haz:

This is a great radio and I would advise anyone to get it. But first, do not think that you will get good range with the stock antenna. This only gets about 1-2 miles of range and only 20-30 feet of range if you use it in your car do to the nature of 27 megahetz. However If you purchase a magnet mount antenna for your car, you can expect about 10-20 miles of range to an other vehicle with a good setup. Do not buy any of those cool looking cheap and small antennas. Trust me, no matter what the manufacturer claims it will not out perform a good full size antenna. Get either a K40 or a Wilson 1000. These are awesome antennas that take a lickin and keep on tickin. But one thing to consider is the radio's price, and Radio Shack's price is totally out of touch with the world. [...]
