I purchased this alarm system as an economic alternative.I wanted some wireless versatility where I can add and remove sensors on whim.I installed it in my 600k home,where I could have easily afforded something main stream.I wanted a basic burglar alarm with loud siren.I bought an extra siren and motion detectors.I use it with my remote security cameras that I monitor on my smart phone.My con is that in away mode, after being triggered there is a series of tones. Those could lead one to the control center.however you'd need to get there in 30 seconds and would probably need to break it to stop it.

i had an old radio shack security system and it was 10 times better than this one. i am going to dig the old one out and use it. it had a remote control which still works will use with the [...] motion senser

We set this up in a few hours with additional zones of protection and extra alarms. We made sure if we are robbed someone will hear it. Great for moderate home security. I would suggest this product to anyone.

i bought this to protect my garage which is only 40 ft,away and the wireless range wont work all the time,i have to take the base unit out to the garage to set the alarm everytime i set it,then bring the base back to the house until the next time i open the door.

Can not get the control unit to interact with sensor if it is in another room. It seems the max range without a repeater is 20 feet. Installation was easy, but if it doesn't work, what good is it?

You can program the window sensors okay but the outside sensors don't work. You can't return the product to the store if it was bought online. And to get a replacement sensor, you have to send in the entire unit. What a dumb idea and a waste. I'm very disappointed. A previous review warned of this and I didn't pay attention.

An intruder can just smash the thing with a hammer before the entry delay expires. The entry delay beeps even lead the intruder to the panel. If you try to hide the panel to make this more difficult, you run into all sorts of other problems, like you can't access it easily yourself.

I bought this system 2 weeks ago; also added a few more door/window sensors, and just ordered more for my remaining windows.

PROS: It's super-easy to set up and use; loud alarm; allows to custom configure how it's set up

CONS: it actually only allows TWELVE [NOT Sixteen] alarms to be set; the 4th zone is only for cautionary alarms - garage door open, water leak - NOT for security breach!!); also, motion detectors will NOT set off alarm. I didn't get one the water leak sensors, but I assume it's the same way.

Overall: A great, BASIC, affordable secuirty option. It's been my experience that as soon as an alarm goes off, the "bad guy(s)" will take off. Great option for those who rent and/or move often. And no monthly fees (unlike ADT or other professional options). If you're in a remote area, I would recommend getting the optional outside/secondary alarm. It'll LOUDLY let you know if a door or window is opened without your knowledge. Comes with all mounting supplies (double sided tape, screws, brackets) for different ways to mount the alarms. You also can bypass a zone if you want, say, your doors protected, but want to leave window(s) open at night. The walls issue in a different review was not a problem for me - get the basic set first - if you need the signal booster, buy it later.

Be advised: if someone REALLY wants in (or, perhaps, you forgot your code) all you have to do is unplug it and take the back-up batteries out of the alarm unit - so it's not totally foolproof. The batteries in the sensors will last 2 years, it says, then you have to replace them all (batteries in the motion detector will last 6 months to a year).

Overall, it's a perfect system for me in my rented duplex, and so far I'm very happy with it.
