    laptop had a mini displayport and I had a cable that converted to hdmi. i have old tv though with dvi-d, so i used this cable to convert hdmi out to div-d, and it worked flawlessly!

        What I thought to be an inconsistent signal turned out to be a PS3 setting adjustment. My ps3 web browser would have minor flickering text or lines. You can make an adjustment in the ps3 settings to stop or reduce this. The cable works great!
