We connected our old computer to the existing monitor and LCD TV to be able to watch netflix on the big screen TV. Works great! this vga splitter uses usb to power it so no need for extra power adapter/outlet

It's for when you have one VGA out on your computer and need to distribute the same video signal to two external monitors and/or projectors. Giving it 1 star because you didn't research properly is simply wrong.

It is used to split a video signal to allow THE SAME SIGNAL that feeds one VGA monitor to be duplicated and fed to another VGA monitor. It is a piece of hardware, not software, and is not advertised nor should be considered as a multiple monitor software tool which does amazing graphical panoramic views across monitors like you see in the movies. It performs exactly as it's description claims, and took about 5 minutes to install.

Once you put the two together you have the functionality that you are looking for. The two monitors interacted with each other and now I can perform multiple tasks. I love it!!

It only duplicates my default monitor and does not offer a dual monitor feature. The label even says, "Good for Home Office." Why would a home office need two duplicate screens?
