Comments about GE Choice-Alert™ 45131 Wireless Door/Window Sensor: I purchased this product specifically for outdoor use. We have dogs with a fenced in yard and were having problems with gates on the side of the house being left open. Since the gates are not in clear view I needed something to monitor if they were open and closed before letting the dogs out. The installation of the sensors was simple to attach to the wooden gate. The only problem I had was with one of the gates the sensor internmittently not communicating with the base station. I relocated the base station to another area in the kitchen and that cleared up the problem. The sensor is advertised as weather resistant so it will be interesting to see how it holds up and performs over the winter. The other thing to consider is if your gate and post are not in good alignment where the sensor will be mounted you may need to add a spaceer under the sensor magnet to shim it up.

Comments about GE Choice-Alert™ 45131 Wireless Door/Window Sensor: if your door jam and trim are perfectly flush it is good. if you make a mistake and have to reprogam or assign to a different zone you have to rip them off the surface. i would suggest a 3M adhesive strip for there removable hanger hooks. if you make a mistake with your placement you can remove the device without ripping the wallpaper or paint off your wall. and these things dont work outside your home.[...] has a wireless motion senser that works outside. i would not waste my money on this system

Best Uses Comments about GE Choice-Alert™ 45131 Wireless Door/Window Sensor: We worked on it for two days then had to go out of town. We called the GE office...they said it could be the batteries. Bought new ones and it still does not work. Will try again when we return, but we may be returning the items. Displaying reviews 1-7 |
